we can make a difference if we all do a little
Have a blessed week!
I wish we had fall color sooo much - but down on the coast we don't get much color. Hope you enjoy it.
Lazarus was so sick. His sisters did everything they could to help him get better. But his health continued to decline. In desperation, Mary and Martha sent word to Jesus that His friend was sick. They knew The Healer would be able to change the course of the illness.
But Jesus waited to respond. And Lazarus died.
Do you feel like God is waiting too long to answer your prayers? Have you been sending word to Him about a problem that just doesn’t seem to have His attention?
He knows. And He cares.
Jesus said that He waited to go to Lazarus, so that God would get all of the glory. And then He RAISED Lazarus from the dead! Now, bringing back someone from the dead isn’t a normal occurrence in my neighborhood, and I think we would have all taken notice!
As we were praying last night for the women’s conference, Cindy was reminded of the story of Lazarus. She prayed that God would get all of the glory, and that maybe that is what He is seeking, as we wait for the ticket sales to escalate.
Maybe God is waiting to answer your prayers, because He wants to show that we can only accomplish His work, His way, through His power. By waiting to respond to our prayers, God is able to showcase His intervention in a powerful way. And that is what glorifies Him!
The story of Lazarus and his sisters is found in John 11 and 12.
Isaiah 48:11 (NIV)
“For my own sake, for my own sake, I do this.
How can I let myself be defamed?
I will not yield my glory to another.”
John 1:14 “…we have seen His glory, the glory of the One and Only…”
