we can make a difference if we all do a little
Have a blessed week!
The Drive-In Theater became our destination Saturday night. It was an impromptu decision, actually. Either spend the evening in different parts of the house, or find something we could all agree to do. We batted around some other options…play mini golf, go for a hike… In the end, the movies won out.
Why haven’t we done this sooner? The waiting stage between ticket purchase and dusk turned out to be a great conversation time. We talked about visiting colleges and planning vacations. We snacked and snuggled in.
Here are some things we learned to be better prepared for the next time.
1. Don’t go on Saturday night! We were zombies Sunday morning while trying to get alert for Sunday School!
2. Bring a pizza! It was interesting watching other families have their tailgate parties. It also saves some time getting ready, when you don’t have to get supper on ahead of time.
3. Bring lots of blankets and pillows. We turned the van around and watched with the hatch up. Without the seats, the floor gets hard! Two of us sat in sports chairs outside, where the night air cooled down considerably.
It was fun to create a new family memory. Those are cherished moments as our children are swiftly turning into young adults.
I would love to hear some of your favorite family times!
Blessings,
Sally
